Funeral services for Martha Kinchen Lovett, 91, of Ochlocknee, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Barnetts Creek Baptist Church, Ochlocknee, GA. Dr. Virgil Lovett and Louie Eleazer will officiate. Services will conclude in the church. Private interment will be in Barnetts Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Ochlocknee, GA. Mrs. Lovett passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
Active pallbearers will be Cameron Bearden, Gene Lovett, Ben Tyus, Steve Tyus, Howard Campbell and James Rice.
Mrs. Lovett was born on October 21, 1933, in Cairo, GA, to the late George Hiram Kinchen and Addie Pearl Anderson Kinchen. She was a member of the Cairo High School Class of 1950. On January 8, 1954, she married John N. Lovett. They have been married for over 71 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Barnetts Creek Baptist Church in Ochlocknee.
Survivors include: her husband, John N. Lovett of Ochlocknee, GA; children, John L. “J.L.” Lovett (Myra), Linda L. Lashley (James), Doug H. Lovett (Karen), all of Ochlocknee, GA; grandchildren, Lindsay Marie Dollar of Cairo, GA, Tracey Howard of Gainesville, GA, Rhonda Lynn Eschete of Gainesville, GA, Heather Lynn Lashley of San Diego, CA, Brent Smith (Megan) of Camilla, GA, Amanda Lovett of Camilla, GA, Heather Lovett of Ochlocknee, GA; Elaina Lovett of Cairo, GA, Cameron Bearden of Ruskin, FL, Scott Bearden of Ochlocknee, GA; greatgrandchildren, Karsen, Kendall, Gracelynn, Addie, Harrison, Cabry Lane, Hayden, Chelsea, Jacob, Billy, Sherry, Kristen, Adaleine, Grayson, Leila, Landon; great-greatgrandchild, Oakland; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; granddaughter, Tori Lynn Lovett; and sisters, Brunell K. Tyus, Kathryn K. Dugger.
