Funeral services for Lewis Elmer Davis, 84, of Whigham, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 22, 2025, at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel, Cairo, GA. Rev. Robert Crapps will officiate. Services will conclude at the chapel. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Davis passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

Active pallbearers will be Zeb Davis, Frankie Davis, Rusty Davis, Darrell Davis, Gary Davis and Randal Burdeshaw. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Davis, George Thomas, Danny Griner, Dexter Harrison, Lewis Gainey and Mark Carr.

Mr. Davis was born on September 21, 1940, in Whigham, GA, to the late Robert Edwin Davis and Edna Jowers Davis. He graduated for Cairo High School in 1959 and from the University of Georgia in 1963. Until his retirement, he was the owner and operator of Davis IGA in Cairo for many years.

Survivors include: his children, Lynn Davis of Cairo, GA, Keith Davis of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Zeb Davis of Whigham, GA, Frankie Davis of Cairo, GA; companion, Lisa Stevenson of Whigham, GA; step son, Randal Burdeshaw of Bainbridge, GA; step grandchild, Ava Burdeshaw of Whigham, GA; brother, Clifford Davis (Suzy) of Whigham, GA; sister-in-law, Ann Davis of Whigham, GA; mother of his children, Diane Webb Davis of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Hugh Lois Davis and Mary Autrey Davis; his parents, Robert Edwin Davis and Edna Jowers Davis; brothers, Kenneth Davis, Frankie Davis; and sisters, Sherry Davis, Jeanette Davis.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home immediately following the service.
