Margie Sue Reeves Pearce

Funeral services for Margie Sue Reeves Pearce, 89, of Whigham, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel, Cairo, GA. Rev. Chad Cooper will officiate. Services will conclude at the chapel. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Pearce passed away at her home on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

Mrs. Pearce was born on September 24, 1935, in Tallahassee, FL, to the late Joseph Reeves and Mae Bell Reeves. On January 3, 1974, she married John R. Pearce, who preceded her in death on August 2, 2017. They were married for 43 years. She retired as a machine operator from Ithaca Industries. She and her husband, John, were members of Piedmont Primitive Baptist Church in Calvary. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, assembling puzzles, listening to Jimmy Swaggart’s music and family gatherings.

Survivors include: her children, Al Byrd (Dolores), Robert Byrd (Ethel); daughter-in-law, Caroly Byrd; 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Opal Jones of Thomasville, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Joseph and Mae Reeves; her husband, John R. Pearce; sons, Ricky Robinson, Joe Byrd; grandchildren, Scott Robinson, Amy Byrd; brothers, J.P. Reeves, Ross Reeves, Bill Reeves; and sisters, Hazel R. Bell and Dorothy R. Flowers.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home immediately following the service.
