Funeral services for Rachel Thomas Tilley, 84, of Cairo, GA, are at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Pastor David McNeely will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Private interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Whigham, GA. Mrs. Tilley passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
Mrs. Tilley was born on September 9, 1940, in Whigham, GA, to the late William McKinley Thomas and Ethylene Trulock Thomas. On June 24, 1958, she married Johnnie C. Tilley, who preceded her in death on October 28, 2008. She retired as a retail sales associate from Walmart, Inc. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Cairo.
Survivors include: her daughters, Joy Johnson (Billy) of LaGrange, GA, Vickie James (Chris) of Cairo, GA, Johna Barnes of Coolidge, GA, Sonia Ruff (Maurice) of Cairo, GA, Seritha Keene (Kenneth) of Cairo, GA; her son, Sidney Tilley (Tracy) of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Heidi King (Stephen) of New Mexico, Jessica Mojica of Cairo, GA, Kristin Riemenscheider (Travis) of LaGrange, GA, Lance Johnson of Tennessee, Amber Johnson (Robert) of Cairo, GA, Nicholas Ruff (Samantha) of Cairo, GA, Malane Tilley of Cairo, GA, Brooke Barnes of Thomasville, GA, Hailey Glover of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Ariel Mash of Cairo, GA, Devon Mash of Cairo, GA, Noah King of New Mexico, Rebecca Mojica of Cairo, GA, Amelia Mojica of Cairo, GA, Hadley Bentley of Cairo, GA, Halen Ruff of Cairo, GA; great-great-grandchildren; Cylas Mash; siblings: Imajene Fussell of Fussell, FL, A.J. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Rev. Johnnie C. Tilley; and siblings, Hazel Bodiford, Patsy Ezell, Madeline Smith, Douglas Thomas, Georgia Faye Thomas, Henry Thomas.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
