Funeral services for Brenda Dayle Dilmore, 72, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Gordon Heighs Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. William Hurst will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Private interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Ms. Dilmore passed away at Archbold Living-Cairo, GA, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Active pallbearers will be Buddy Cox, Durrel Cox, Steve Cox, Tony Allen, Jody Renfroe and Dan Steele.

Ms. Dilmore was born on June 6, 1952, in Bainbridge, GA, to the late James Buford Dilmore and Ruby Virginia Herndon Dilmore. She retired from James A. Long Elementary School in Palatka, FL, as an elementary school teacher. Dayle Dilmore’s life was focused on providing an enriching and informative education for the school children placed under her care as a career elementary school teacher, support and service carried out by her local Church family, and loving comfort to her twin sister, Gayle and husband, Bernard, her nephew, Buddy, and her siblings and family.

Survivors include: her son, Bernard “Buddy” Cox, Jr. of Largo, FL; her siblings, twin sister, Gayle Dilmore Cox of Cairo, GA, Pam Dilmore of Nashville, TN, Gwen George (Harvey) of Panama City, FL, Jimmy Dilmore (Charlene) of Cottondale, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Bernard Douglas Cox, Sr.

The family will receive friends at Gordon Heights Baptist Church immediately following the service.
