James Samuel Collins, 54, of Cairo, GA, passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Sunday, November 1, 2026. The family will have a private memorial service. Mr. Collins will be interred near his home.

Mr. Collins was born on January 12, 1972, in Tallahassee, FL, to the late James Herschel Collins and Dorothy Faye Godwin. On October 13, 2006, he married Carrie Tilley Collins. He was self-employed in the cable installation industry.

Survivors include: wife, Carrie Collins of Cairo, GA; children, Richard Collins of Crawfordville, FL, Miranda Lloyd (Curtis) of Tallahassee, FL, Taylor Wilson (Jake) of Tallahassee, FL, Kyle Collins (Brooke) of Tallahassee, FL, Payge Hayes (Joel) of Cairo, GA, Christa Castillo (Adrian) of Cairo, GA, Cierra Deforest of Cairo, GA, Mason Collins of Cairo, GA; 14 grandchildren; his mother, Dorothy Faye Collins of Crawfordville, FL; and siblings, Tony Collins (Kathy) of Blountstown, FL, Tammy Lewis (Kevin) of Crawfordville, FL; and his mother-in-law, Teresa Phelps of Cairo, GA.

He was preceded in death by his father.
