Donald “Don” Paul Feranec

Funeral services for Donald “Don” Paul Feranec, 89, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the Hilltop Bible Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Glen Scoggin will officiate. Military Honors will be presented at the church. Private interment will be in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Climax, GA. Mr. Feranec passed away at his home with his loving family by his side on Friday evening, October 2, 2026.
Mr. Feranec was born on August 19, 1937, in Ambridge, PA, to the late Dominick Feranec and Mary V. Kisucky Feranec. He served his country in the United States Air Force. On July 20, 1957, he married Joeleen Herndon Feranec. They have been married for 69 years. He retired as a police officer from the Metro-Dade Police Dept in Miami, FL. He was a member of Hilltop Bible Baptist Church in Cairo.
Survivors include: his wife, Joeleen Feranec of Cairo, GA; children, Cindy Orme (Mike) of Cairo, GA, Becky Greene (Jim) of Rockmart, GA, Lisa Carr (Mike) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Lacey Smith (Lee), Sarah Scoggin (Dustin), both of Cairo, GA, Tiffany Luke (Daniel) of Thomasville, GA, Matt Greene (Maggie) of Jefferson, GA, Melissa Beck (Darren) of Waynesville, NC, Christina Bragg (Cullen) of Douglasville, GA, Ryan Carr, Jacob Carr, Daniel Carr, all of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, CJ Hall, Blake Hall, Peyton Hall, Avery Scoggin, Zane Scoggin, Eli Scoggin, all of Cairo, GA, Vivian Luke of Thomasville, GA, Morgan Greene, Molly Greene, Macy Greene, Maddax Greene, all of Jefferson, GA, Ava Beck, Finley Beck, Easton Beck, all of Waynesville, NC, Sean Greene of Douglasville, GA, Reagan Bragg of Cartersville, GA; siblings, Carol Harrington of Westtown, NY. Sue Feranec of Ambridge, PA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Dominick and Mary Feranec; and his brother, Bob Feranec.
