Joel Bruce Gainous, Sr., 63, of Cairo, GA, passed away at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, Tallahassee, FL, on Sunday June 7, 2026. The family will have a memorial service at a later date.

Mr. Gainous was born on April 18, 1963, to the late Johnny Wesley Gainous, Sr. and Bonnie Sue Davis Gainous. He retired from South Georgia Drilling in Cairo, GA.

Survivors include: his son, Joel Gainous, Jr. (Kayla) of Cairo, GA, Austin Dewayne Gainous (Ashley) of Moultrie, GA; grandchildren, Kody Marie Gainous of Cairo, GA, Wesley Gainous, Tucker Gainous, both of Moultrie, GA; siblings, Elaine Maskevich (Mike) of Tallahassee, FL; brother, Mike Gainous (Vickie) of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Johnny and Bonnie Gainous; and a brother Wesley Gainous, Jr.
