Graveside services for Bette Ward Harrell Chism, age 84, of Auburn, Alabama will be held Wednesday, May 27th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Dr. Ron McCaskill will officiate.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Justin Carlson, Cody Carlson, Jacob Alford, Luke Alford, James Ward, Robin Ward and Tommy Ward.
Bette passed away peacefully on May 20th, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, sister and friend whose kindness and strength touched everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her generous heart, unwavering love for her family, and the warmth she brought in every room. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her love, guidance and compassion will be in our hearts forever. Her faith gave her strength, and her love leaves a lasting legacy in all who knew her. Forever loved, forever missed. Her love will remain in our hearts always. A beautiful soul now at peace.

Bette was preceded in death by: her first husband, Thomas E. Harrell and husband, Ronald Chism. Also by her parents, Luke and Dorothy Ward; Brother and Sister-in-law, Joe and Helen Ward; and nephew, Joe Ward.
