Mrs. Ulmer was born on December 18, 1951, in Moultrie, GA, to the late Frank Henry Stanaland and Ida Cleo Duke Stanaland. On December 11, 1976, she married the love of her life, Joel Clayton Ulmer. Together, they lived lives full of love and devotion, sharing nearly 48 wonderful years of marriage. Raising two children of their own, she was a mother to many, many more. She served as Patient Representative at Archbold Memorial Hospital and worked there for more than 20 years. She was also a dedicated member of Whigham Baptist Church.
Gail was the embodiment of love, a sweet and gentle soul. Her selfless nature was defined by her willingness to care for others. She was a devoted daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend – always giving whatever she had for those she loved. Often forgoing her own desires, she humbly gave her time and energy for the betterment of those in need. No matter the situation, she was never too tired to cook, help with homework, or simply talk about your day. Her gentleness could be felt through her soothing voice, her loving hugs, and kisses. She was so proud of her family and was happy to tell anyone who would listen. She never met a stranger and quickly befriended everyone she met. Gail was renowned as an amazing cook, and her recipes are greatly treasured among friends and family. Whether she was making lasagna, Thanksgiving dressing, or baking cakes and pies, it was one of her favorite ways to love others.
