Memorial services for Kay Frances Worley, 78, of Cairo, GA, are at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Midway Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Pastor Marc Walters will officiate. Mrs. Worley passed away at the Archbold-Wight Hospice Center in Thomasville, GA, on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

Ms. Worley was born on December 10, 1947, in Cairo, GA, to the late L. C. Worley and Kathryn Geeslin Worley. She retired as a business manager.

Her life was defined by her devotion to God, her family, and her friends. She was the heart of her home and a constant source of strength for those she loved.

Kay was the proud and loving mother of Jimmy, Michele, and Scotty. To her children, she was more than a parent; she was a champion of every success and a steady coach through every “near miss.” Her wisdom and guidance provided a roadmap for their lives, and her influence will be missed beyond measure.

Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She delighted in spending her days in the garden, often accompanied by her loyal dog, Fritzy, and her grands, teaching them the quiet beauty of watching things grow. Her kitchen was a place of warmth where her peanut butter & cowboy cookies could be found creating sweet memories that her grands will cherish forever.

Kay’s faith was her anchor, and her love for the Lord was evident in the way she treated everyone she met. She leaves behind a community of friends and family who were made better simply by knowing her.

Survivors include: her sons, James R. Cumbie of Cairo, GA, Scott Cumbie, Sr. (Kristie) of Whigham, GA; daughter, Michele Hudson (Johnny) of Erie, PA; grandchildren, Mason L.
