Funeral services for Howell Edward McKinnon, Jr., 87, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2026, at Cairo First Methodist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Dr. Bill Baker and Pastor Johnny H. Moore will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. McKinnon passed away at Archbold Living-Cairo, GA, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Mr. McKinnon was born on June 3, 1938, in Thomasville, GA, to the late Howell E. McKinnon, Sr. and Wilma Bullard McKinnon. On August 22, 1959, he married Eleanor Rogers McKinnon. They have been married for 66 years. He was in the banking industry for most of his life. Howell was a devoted member of the Cairo First Methodist Church and held several leadership positions in the past.

Survivors include: his wife, Eleanor McKinnon of Cairo, GA; sons, Howell E. “Kin” McKinnon, III (Beth) of Watkinsville, GA, Stephen Alexander McKinnon (Terri) of Pelham, GA; grandchildren, Michael Thompson of Dunwoody, GA, Eve Elise Queen (Jimmy) of Athens, GA, Bradley McKinnon (Jasmine) of Pelham, GA; great-grandchildren, Leia McKinnon, Nora McKinnon, Kai McKinnon, all of Pelham, GA; and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howell and Wilma McKinnon, Sr., and a sister, Betty Anne McKinnon.

The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall of the Cairo First Methodist Church on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
