Lauralu Tyson
December 28, 1954 – January 29, 2026
Memorial services for Lauralu Tyson, 71, of Cairo, GA, will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Christian Center in Cairo, GA, with Reverend David Coleman officiating. Interment will be at New Ochlocknee Baptist Church Cemetery, Beachton, GA. Lauralu Tyson went to be with the Lord on January 29th, 2026.
Ms. Tyson was the daughter of Omer Lee Tyson, Jr. and Myrtice Wells Tyson of Cairo, GA and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard R. Wells of Beachton, GA and Mr. and Mrs. Omer Lee Tyson, Sr. of Nashville, GA.
Ms. Tyson lived her life to the fullest, cherished her friends, and even had lots of occupations: secretary, librarian, home healthcare, dog breeder, and teacher’s aide to mention a few. Her creative spirit shined in jewelry making, fashion, machine embroidery, and quilting. Ms. Tyson also had an entrepreneur side selling crafts and embroidery, and working booths at area antique malls. She enjoyed making handmade gifts for everyone’s special occasions; every member in the family has at least one quilt or decor made by Lauralu. Ms. Tyson was a lover of animals, and always had dogs and cats, and maybe a few farm animals along the way. She took such great pride in her son, Nathaniel, and she loved being a grandmother.
She was a faithful member of Faith Christian Center of Cairo, but sadly, later in life, ill health kept her from attending. She was serious about her faith and invited others to know it too.
Ms. Tyson is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her son, Nathaniel Lee Cabe and daughter-in-law, Melissa Cabe, grandchildren Kendall and Liam, Crawfordville, Florida; sister, Mary Margaret Tyson Quiggle, Cairo, Georgia; niece and nephew, Margaret Ann Quiggle and Michael Lee Quiggle, as well as very caring friends Patricia Tootle, Lucy Baker, and Carol Rehberg.
