Sherman Lee Wolford

Sherman Lee Wolford, 84, of Cairo, GA, passed away at the Wight Inpatient Hospice Center in Thomasville, GA, on Thursday, January 8, 2026. The family will have private funeral service with interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Wolford was born on August 21, 1941, in Concord Delaware, to the late Ralph Dana Wolford and Elva Gale Lake Wolford. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On Feb. 28, 1968, he married Ethel Louise Lewis Wolford, who preceded him in death on May 8, 2022. They were married for 54 years. He was a retired carpenter. Mr. Wolford was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: children, Patsy Pearson (Ray) of Cairo, GA, Terri Garner (Edward) of Pelham, GA, Lee Dana Wolford of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Hana Wolford, Megan Pearson, Peyton Pearson, all of Cairo, GA, Brandon Mitchell (Nichole) Of Pelham, GA, Justin Wolford (Emily) of Pelham, GA, Joshua Vickers of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Avery Grace Lawrence, Ayden Wolford, Brycen Wolford, Rayleigh Wolford; and a sister, Shirley Gibson of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Ralph and Elva Wolford; his wife, Ethel Louise Wolford; son, Jamey Wolford; and a granddaughter, Kayla Marie Wolford.
