Graveside funeral services for Eleanor Joyner Harper, 89, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Pastor Johnny H. Moore will officiate. Mrs. Harper passed away at her daughter’s home in Ochlocknee, GA, on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

Mrs. Harper was born on March 28, 1936, in Cairo, GA, to the late Floyd Joyner and Mildred Andrews Joyner. She was married to Fred Autrey Harper, who preceded her in death on October 21, 2009. She was an accountant with the Thomas-Grady Training Center until her retirement. She was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church in Cairo. She was lovingly known as “Muggy” by her family. She enjoyed singing “You Are My Sunshine” to her grandchildren.

Survivors include: daughters, Karen Thomas of Rome, GA, Sharon Johnson (Flynt) of Ochlocknee; grandchildren, Amy Cumbaa (Johnny) of Whigham, GA, Brack Dukes (Leigh Ann) of Rome, GA, Robert Douglas Thomas of Rome, GA, Peyton Latta (Casey) of Coolidge, GA, Reagan Kenslee Johnson of Thomasville, GA; great-grandchildren, Logan Autry Cumbaa of Gainesville, GA, Andrew Braxton Cumbaa of Atlanta, GA, Kara Ann Dukes, Lauren Michelle Dukes, Samuel Conrad Dukes, all of Rome, GA, Harper Rae Latta of Coolidge, GA; siblings, Betty Carlton of Pavo, GA, Linda Parker of Thomasville, GA, Virgil Joyner of Monticello, FL, Lisa Joyner of Ochlocknee, GA, Steve Joyner of Monticello, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents Floyd and Mildred Joyner; her husband, Fred Harper; and siblings, Bernard Joyner, Frances Ezell, her twin, Velma Singletary, Tommy Joyner and Wendall Joyner.

The family will receive friends at graveside immediately following the service.
