Funeral services for Roland Francis Waldron, 97, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2018, at Pine Level Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Jim Weaver and Morris Anderson will officiate. Military Honors will be presented. Services will conclude in the church. Interment will be in Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery, Ochlocknee, GA. Mr. Waldron passed away at his home in Cairo, GA, on Sunday, March 25, 2018.

Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Pine Level Baptist Church.

Mr. Waldron was born on July 15, 1920, in Pelham, GA, to the late William Henry Waldron and Mary Della Banks Waldron. From 1942 to 1946, he served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. On July 26, 1942, he married Clarine Hopkins Waldron, who survives. For many years he was the owner-operator of Jinnette and Waldron Motor Company in Jacksonville, FL, and later moved to Cairo where he farmed pecans. He was a former member and deacon of Silver Glyn Baptist Church in Jacksonville and later served Pine Level Baptist Church in Cairo as devoted deacon.

Survivors include: his wife of 75 years, Clarine Hopkins Waldron of Cairo, GA; daughters, Kay Somers (Bob) of Springfield, PA, Debi Abbott (Chuck) of Cairo, GA; daughter-in-law, Louise Waldron Foster (Thom) of OH; grandchildren, Kristen Waldron of OH, Mark Waldron of CO, Aron Foster, Ryan Foster, Nathan Foster, Colleen Somers of PA, Charlene Flanagan (Mike) of NJ, Tami Somers of MA, Kara Arbutina (Nick) of PA, Ashley Somers of MD, Kimberly Stratman (Tim) of GA, Kirk Abbott of GA; great-grandchildren, Morgan Lefkof of MD, Kyle Lefkof of PA, Brittani Flanagan of CT, Collin Flanagan of NJ, Darrin Flanagan of NJ, Grayson Arbutina of PA, Shannon Stratman of GA; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Nell Waldron of Albany, GA, Alene Anderson of Tifton, GA, Clayton Hudson of Ochlocknee, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and church family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, William Francis Waldron; sisters, Grace Waldron, Elva Hobby, Arlene Musselwhite; and brothers, Wilson “Bill” Waldron, Bernard Waldron, Dwight Waldron, Austin Waldron, Odell Waldron.

The family will receive friends in the Pine Level Baptist Church Sanctuary following the service.
