Funeral services for John Everett “Johnny” Williams, 82, of Cairo, GA, are at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Pine Level Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Jim Weaver will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will be in Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Williams passed away at his home in Cairo, GA, on Monday, October 22, 2018.

Active pallbearers will be members of the Cairo Police Department.

Mr. Williams was born on February 1, 1936, in West Palm Beach, FL, to the late Carroll Edward Williams and Thelma Franklin Williams. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a policeman with the Cairo Police Department for 30 years. He was a devoted member of Pine Level Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife of 58 years, Roberta Bond Williams of Cairo, GA; children, Myra Williams Lovett (J. L.) of Grady County, John Wesley “Wes” Williams (Carlene) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Mandie Layton of Royston, GA, Scott Bearden, Bo Williams (Tiffany), both of Grady County, Cameron Bearden (Meagan) of Clarksville, TN, Kelly Barclay (Brett) of Thomasville, GA; great-grandchildren, Collin Williams, Adaleine Bearden, Grayson Bearden, Carter Williams, Leila Bearden; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by: parents, brother, James C. Williams; and sisters, Mary Ann Williams, Margaret Lawrence.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Williams’ memory to: Pine Level Baptist Church, Building Fund, 298 Pine Level Road, Cairo, GA 39827.

The family will receive friends at Pine Level Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Thursday, October 25, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
