Elva Jane Bond Crawford

Funeral services for Elva Jane Bond Crawford, 82, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Mizpah Primitive Baptist Church, Pelham, GA. Elder Jimmy Smith will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Private family interment will be in the Bond-Maxwell Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Crawford passed away at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, FL, on Monday, February 19, 2018.

Active pallbearers will be David Harrison, Roddy Prince, Rodney Blakely, Bobby Merritt, Bruce Brown and Joey McCelvey. Honorary pallbearers will be Rayburn Avery, Earl Godwin, Steve Godwin, Jeff Godwin, Donald Brock, Garry Childs, Al Sellers and Bobby Sanders.

Mrs. Crawford was born on February 9, 1936, in Pelham, GA, to the late Willie Bush and Loye Mae Wilder Bush. She was a homemaker and a member of Mizpah Primitive Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother, and mamaw. Elva Jane was a divine cook and caregiver to all in need. She loved working in her yard, on her farm, fishing, canning, and was an uneducated meteorologist.

Survivors include: children, Tommy Bond of Cairo, GA, Willie Bond (Karen) of Cairo, GA, Janet Thompson (Bill) of Cairo, GA; step-children, Donna Lee (Jim) of Houston, TX, Renn Newell (Doug) of Orlando, FL, Trina Falk of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Brandon Bond (Tracy) of Cairo, GA, Houston Thompson of Monticello, FL, Sydney Kirksey (Blair) of Cairo, GA, Nat Hester of Watford, ND, Justin Lee of Houston, TX, Josh Falk (Jennifer) of Orlando, FL, Ethan Falk of Orlando, FL, Lindsey Carroll of Lady Lake, FL, Nicholas Carroll of Lady Lake, FL; great-grandchildren, Ray and Kale Hester of Cairo, GA, Reid Kirksey, Skyy Thompson, Fallyn and Baylee Schafer, all of Cairo, GA, Riley and Parker Falk of Orlando, FL; sisters, Louise Butler (Thurman) of Panacea, FL, Sandra Langley of Quincy, FL; brother, Cleon Bush (Kathy) of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her first husband, Charles Afton Bond, who preceded her in death on May 22, 1988; her second husband, William K. “Bill” Crawford, who preceded her in death on January 18, 2007; and a step-daughter, Becky Carroll; sister, Verdie Harden; and a brother, Leon Bush.
