Turner M. “Mack” Harrison

Funeral services for Turner Maxwell “Mack” Harrison, 70, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Eastside Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Carl Harrell and Minister Steven McKown will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Military Honors will be presented by American Legion Post 122. Mr. Harrison passed away at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, GA, on Tuesday, July 3, 2018.

Active pallbearers will be Trey Byrd, Tommy Sadberry, Ron Harrison, Ward Johnson, Richard Pearce and Bryan Maxson. Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Harrison, David Harrison, Melton “Buzz” McKown, Forest Harrison and Lee Wilkes.

Mr. Harrison was born on November 4, 1947, in Cairo, GA, to the late Turner Edward Harrison and Mavis Maxwell Harrison. He served his country in the United States Army. On July 27, 1968, he married Eddie Jean Muggridge Harrison, who survives. For many years, he worked with the W. B. Roddenbery Company and later was a maintenance technician with Smith Electric in Thomasville. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife of 50 years, Eddie Jean Harrison of Cairo, GA; daughter, Rhonda Jean Slocumb (Chris) of Americus, GA, Tracy Belinda Dillon (Charlie) of Perryopolis, PA; son, Joshua William Harrison (Lashaya) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Laura Ann Griggs (Jesse) of Milledgeville, GA, Ruric Slocumb of Americus, GA, Cianna Dillon, Caiden Dillon, both of Perryopolis, PA, Bryce Harrison, Mathew Maxson, Zander Harrison, all of Cairo, GA; sister, JoAnn Wilson (Willie) of Jacksonville, FL, Joyce Harrell of Cairo, GA, Kim Johnson (Ward) of Cairo, GA; brothers, Robert Harrison (Wanda) of Quincy, FL, Edward Harrison (Sandra) of Albany, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Maria Slocumb.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Friday, July 6, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
