Roy Clifford Bell

Funeral services for Roy Clifford Bell, 72, of Cairo, GA, are at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Pine Park Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Johnny Burdick and Rev. Jeff Ezell will officiate. Interment will be in Cairo Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Bell passed away at his home in Cairo, GA, on Thursday, June 9, 2016.

Active pallbearers will be Tommy Barrineau, Pat Maddox, Bobby Bell, Steve Bell, Richard Bell, and Marvin Bell. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Cairo High School Class of 1963.

Mr. Bell was born on August 10, 1943, in Cairo, GA, to the late Bob Bell and Mellie Pyles Bell. On December 3, 2010, he married Marinell Giles Bell, who survives. He was a Technician with Astro Pest Control. Clifford was a faithful member of Pine Park Baptist Church. He was better known as “the bug man” working as an exterminator with Bobby Eidson and then retired from Astro. He really enjoyed cooking fish with Mr. Bobby Mitchell and the gang to benefit needs of his friends and neighbors for many, many years. These last few years, he was noted for his pound cakes, pecan pies, and jelly. He enjoyed sharing with family, friends, and shut-ins.

Bell of Cairo, GA; sons, Rusty Bell (Casey) of Cairo, GA; Chad Bell (Mya) of Cairo, GA; grandsons, Caleb Bell of Cairo, GA, Mack Bell of Cairo, GA, Tyson Bell of Cairo, GA, Connor Lewis of Cairo, GA; granddaughter, Aletta Ann Bell of Cairo, GA; step-sons, Pete Ezell (Vickie), Jeff Ezell (Lisa) all of Cairo, GA; step-daughter, Sherry Smith (Marty) of Cairo, GA; step-grandsons, Michael Smith (Shelley) of Gainesville, Ga, Eric Smith (Jordan) of Cairo, GA, Connor Ezell of Cairo, GA; step-granddaughters, Ashley Ezell of Athens, GA, Kaylee Ezell and Logan Ezell of Cairo, GA; step-great-grandchildren, Jessie Heady, McKaylin Smith and Olivia Smith all of Gainesville, Ga; brothers, J. T. Bell of Donalsonville, GA, Donald Bell (Annette) of Cairo, GA; sisters, Clara Griner and Pamela Roberts (Steve) of Cairo, GA; sisters-in-law, Merle Bell and Betty Jean Bell both of Cairo, GA; also, dear friend and mother of Rusty Bell, Martha Bell of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Patricia Segars Bell; brothers, Robert Lee Bell, W. Rayford Bell; sister, Linda Bell, Elbana Bell, and Ethel Boyette.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, June 11, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
