Patricia Culbreth “Tricia” Gainey
February 15, 1950 – October 12, 2021

Patricia Culbreth “Tricia” Gainey, 71, of Tallahassee, FL, passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.  A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Tricia will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park, 350 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, FL  32309.  The service will be in the Recreation Area at the large picnic pavilion overlooking Lake Hall.

Mrs. Gainey was born on February 15, 1950, in Tallahassee, FL, to the late L. Turner Culbreth and Eloise Moore Culbreth.  On February 14, 2008, she married William V. “Vic” Gainey, who survives.  Tricia was a lifelong Tallahassee resident and a 1968 graduate of Leon High School.  She earned her Bachelor of Science from Florida State University and earned her Master’s in Social Work from FSU also.   She worked her career in the field of medicine; first as a nurse and moved on to Medical Social Work for home health care agencies.  She joined Big Bend Hospice as a Medical Social Worker for the final 15 years of her work career before retiring.

Survivors include: her husband, William V. “Vic” Gainey of Tallahassee, FL; children, Ross Hinkle (Erica) of Los Angeles, CA, Victoria P. Mock (Brian) of Land O Lakes, FL; grandchild, Ari Ford Tishby Hinkle of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Kathy C Guzzo (Gary) of Tallahassee, FL, Becky C. Hoy  (Charlie) of Tallahassee, FL; and nieces and nephews, Tony Guzzo of Tallahassee, FL, Gina Coffas (Mike) of Atlanta, GA, Cory Guzzo (Libby) of Tallahassee, Pierce Schuessler of Tallahassee, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents.
