Funeral services for Otis Lee Thomas, 84, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Calvary Baptist Church, Calvary, GA. Rev. Rob Cronin will officiate. Interment will be in Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Whigham, GA. Mr. Thomas passed away at his home in Grady County, GA, on Monday, April 17, 2017.

Active pallbearers will be Larry Litton, John Thomas, Chris Hagan, Jason Harrell, Justin Willis, Todd Whigham, Devonte Reeves and Todd Whigham, Jr.

Mr. Thomas was born on January 16, 1933, in Cairo, GA, to the late Carl Luther Thomas and Estelle Lowe Thomas. He served his country in the United States Marines. On December 31, 1987, he was married to Betty Ann Cook Thomas, who survives. He retired as a heavy equipment operator. He later worked as supervisor with the Seminole County Road Department. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Calvary, GA.

Survivors include: his wife, Betty Ann Cook Thomas of Cairo, GA; daughters, Deborah T. Hollis (Lavert) of Dothan, AL, Diane T. Hale (Kenny) of Thomasville, GA, Theresa Dixon (Larry) of Cairo, GA, Tammy T. Willis of Cairo, GA, Lisa W. Hagan of Cairo, GA, Tammie W. Dekle (Daniel) of Donaldsonville, GA; sons, Ronald Thomas (Diane) of Calvary, GA, James Michael Thomas of Dothan, AL, Todd J. Whigham (Brenda) of Albany, GA, Tony Thomas of Macon, GA, Stanley Thomas of Havana, FL; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, James Monroe Thomas of Williamstown, NJ, Bobby L. Thomas (Nettie) of Havana, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Don Shepard; grandson, Joshua Thomas; son-in-law, Ken Hagan; and 2 sisters, Iris Bell, Pauline Johnson.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
