Opal S. Corbin

Funeral services for Opal S. Corbin, 80, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Hilltop Bible Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Pastor Glen Scoggin will officiate. Interment will be in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Corbin passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Saturday, March 23, 2019.

Active pallbearers will be Daniel Hammond, Andrew Barrett, Phillip Corbin, Allen Corbin, Patrick Stilwell and Mathew Nellis. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Simmons, Troy Simmons, Joe Simpson, Wayne Hall and William Hall.

Mrs. Corbin was born on December 23, 1938, in Colquitt, GA, to the late Joe Brown Simpson and Christine Davis Simpson. On September 2, 1961, she married Durwood Corbin, who preceded her in death in on June 8, 1984. She most recently worked at Mr. Chick as a hostess. She was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include: daughters, Faye Stilwell (Greg) of Orlando, FL, Sandra Corbin of Cairo, GA, Peggy Lee (David) of Cairo, GA, Cathy Barrett (Larry) of Cairo, GA; sons, David Corbin (Tuleda) of Adel, GA, Greg Corbin (Suzanne) of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren, Jessica Stilwell, Patrick Stilwell, Alyssa Stilwell, Audra Stilwell, Daniel Hammond, April Curry, Michelle Kolli, Lindsey Wilson, Heather Corbin, Phillip Corbin, Allen Corbin, Melissa Barrett, Amanda Tillery, Andrew Barrett, Ashley Morris, Alicia Davis; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Simpson (Pete) of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; her sisters, Clara Brown, Betty Sue Simpson; and her brother, Mac Simpson.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Corbin’s memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

The family will receive friends at Hilltop Bible Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
