Mabel was born on November 13, 1925, in Cairo, GA, to the late Robert Roscoe VanLandingham and Mabel Maxwell VanLandingham. In 1957, she married her devoted husband Robert Kral, who survives. She was an educator and taught in Metro Nashville schools for many years before retiring to Cairo, her beloved home town. Far from retiring, Mabel dedicated herself to her church and community in many ways. Mabel gave much time to the Cairo United Methodist Church, especially the preschool program. Always a great hostess, she welcomed new church members with dinners at her home. She was generous with her time and resources, contributing to the Cairo High School Band Program, The Grady County Hospital Support League, and many cultural initiatives and community programs. Throughout her life, Mabel worked tirelessly for others, helped hundreds of children, and touched the hearts of many people. Words cannot express how much her family and friends will miss her.
