Joyce McManeus VanLandingham
April 3, 1927 – August 21, 2020

Private graveside funeral services for Joyce McManeus VanLandingham, 93, of Cairo, GA, are on Saturday, August 29, 2020, in the Cairo Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Christy Bandy will officiate.  Mrs. VanLandingham passed away at SSM Health DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, MO on Friday, August 21, 2020.

Mrs. VanLandingham was born on April 3, 1927, in Cairo, GA, to the late William Osma McManeus and Gussie Mae Singletary McManeus.  On August 22, 1946, she married William Joseph “Bill” VanLandingham, who preceded her in death on August 4, 2013.  She was a graduate of the Cairo High School and attended the University of Georgia.  Joyce served in many clubs and organizations including: Grady General Hospital Auxiliary, Magnolia Garden Club, Cairo Woman’s Club, DAR Thomasville Chapter, Colonial Dames XVII Century, American Legion Auxiliary, American Cancer Society, Golden K and the American Red Cross.  She was a homemaker and a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church of Cairo where she was a member of the Wesley-Aldersgate Sunday School Class.

Joyce lived a long and loved life.  She will be missed by her surviving family including: a daughter, Rebecca J.  Lovelace (Dan) of St. Peters, MO; a son, William Joseph VanLandingham, Jr. (Patsy) of Franklin, TN; grandchildren, William Joseph VanLandingham, III, (Laurie) of Franklin, TN, Wendy VanLandingham Chirikos (Anthony) of Niwot, CO, Jeffrey Patrick VanLandingham of Chattanooga, TN, Jennifer R. Lovelace of St. Peters, MO, Kimberly S. Lovelace Meyers (Mark) of St. Louis, MO; and great-grandchildren, Hallie VanLandingham, Winifred VanLandingham, both of Franklin, TN,  Zachary Chirikos, Adeleine Chirikos, both of Niwot, CO, Isla Meyers, William Meyers, both of St. Louis, MO, Chloe Broussard of Knoxville, TN.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, William and Gussie McManeus; and her daughter, Susan Jan VanLandingham.
