Jerry G. Hawthorne
June 20, 1962 – May 7, 2021

Funeral services for Jerry G. Hawthorne, 58, of Whigham, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Mira Barrett will officiate.  Services will conclude at the chapel.  Private family interment will be in Hawthorne Cemetery, Whigham, GA.  Mr. Hawthorne passed away at his home on Friday, May 7, 2021.

Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Hawthorne, Marty Powe, Jeff Cobb, Bill McCorkle, Leslie Hudson and Everett Pearce.

Mr. Hawthorne was born on June 20, 1962, in Cairo, GA, to the late Calvin Hawthorne and Valda Tiny Collins Hawthorne.  On November 7, 1982, Jerry and Sally were wed by Rev. Barrett and would have celebrated 39 years of marriage this year.  He was the shipping manager for the East Coast Division of Monrovia Growers.  He was a member of the Springhill United Methodist Church in Whigham.

Loving family members include: his wife, Sally Hawthorne of Whigham, GA; children, Brandon Hawthorne (fiancée Tammy Zendzion), Jessica Hawthorne, both of Marietta, GA; brothers, Warren Hawthorne (Sandra) of Bainbridge, GA, Weymond Hawthorne (Penny) of Whigham, GA, Gary Hawthorne (Teresa) of Cairo, GA; sisters, Demetrius Harrison (Robert) of Cairo, GA, Judy Hawthorne Prince of Cairo, GA; and nieces and nephews, David, Teresa, Christina, Lance, Amy, Lamar, Kyle, Stephanie, and Julie.

Jerry is now with his loving parents and his “little guy” Riley who was always by his side.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Hawthorne’s memory to: Archbold Foundation, Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center-Patients’ Fund, 910 S. Broad Street, Thomasville, GA 31792.
