James B. “Jim” Joiner
November 2, 1931 – April 8, 2022

Memorial services for James Bernard “Jim” Joiner, 90, of Cairo, GA, are at 4:00 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2022, at the First Baptist Church, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Chris Allen and Tom Brown will officiate.  Mr. Joiner passed away at his home on Friday morning, April 8, 2022.

Pallbearers will be Roy Jones, Charlie Norton, Phil Eiford, George Thomas, David Stewart, Charles Renaud, Johnny Mac Butler and Don Cape.

Mr. Joiner was born on November 2, 1931, in Butler, GA, to the late Elmer J. Joiner and Eva Gray Taunton Joiner.  He served his country in the United States Army.  On August 7, 1957, he married Annette Guy Joiner, who survives.  Jim worked in many positions at the W. B. Roddenbery Company and was serving as plant manager when he retired.  He was a 50 year member of the Cairo American Legion.  He was a member and deacon of  First Baptist Church of Cairo, GA.

Survivors include: his wife, Annette Joiner of Cairo, GA; children, Alan J. Joiner (Donna) of Cairo, GA, Walter E. Joiner (Kim) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Brandon Joiner (Lynn), Kyle M. Joiner (Brittany), Casey Avery (Rob), Brin E. Joiner (Kendal Weeks), Hayden Joiner, Alec Joiner, all of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Bentley Usery, Bryden Avery, both of Cairo, GA, Katelyn Ballew, of Whigham, GA; sister-in-law, Fran Harrell of Cairo, GA; and a niece, Ann Joiner Hopkins of Butler, GA.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his son, Glenn Morris Joiner and Glenn’s wife, Molly Elkins Joiner; and brothers, Robert Joiner, Wallace Joiner.

The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church on Monday, April 11, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
