Hugh Augustus Maxwell
November 6, 1933 – January 8, 2018

Memorial services for Hugh Augustus Maxwell, 84, of Calvary, GA, are at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Calvary Methodist Church, Calvary, GA. Rev. Wayne McDonald and Rev. John Vanstone will officiate. Military Honors will be presented by the Cairo American Legion Post #122 Honor Guard. Services will conclude at the church. Mr. Maxwell passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Monday, January 8, 2018.

Mr. Maxwell was born on November 6, 1933, in Calvary, GA, to the late Willie Augustus Maxwell and Maxie Mae Rehberg Maxwell. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On February 8, 1958, he married Patricia Ann Teague Maxwell, who survives. He was an iron worker and welder in the construction industry. He was a member of the Calvary Methodist Church.

Survivors include: his wife of 60 years, Patricia Ann Maxwell of Cairo, GA; sons, Donald Hugh Maxwell (Debbie Jo) of Calvary, GA, David Maxwell (Tolly) of Calvary, GA, Darrin Maxwell of Calvary, GA, Daniel Maxwell (Diane) of Calvary, GA; grandchildren, Brianne Maxwell of Calvary, GA, Brooke Eversole (Steven) of Cairo, GA, Kyle Maxwell of Calvary, GA, Nikki Knight (Bubba) of Whigham, GA, Kacey Maxwell of Cairo, GA, Jeremy Maxwell (Shannon) of Whigham, GA, Alexis Maxwell of Calvary, GA, Megan Maxwell of Calvary, GA, Sara Maxwell of Calvary, GA, Justin Harrison of Calvary, GA; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald Maxwell (Mary) of Fort Valley, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the church.
