Funeral services for Frank Johnson, Jr., 65, of Whigham, GA, are at 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2017, at Bethany Baptist Church, Box Springs, GA. Rev. Dr. Larry Johnson and Pastor Ruble Youngblood will officiate. Interment will be in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Box Springs, GA. Mr. Johnson passed away at his home in Whigham, GA, on Wednesday, December 6, 2017.

Active pallbearers will be his grandson, Daniel Paul, Aaron Venable, Robert Kersey, Philip Evans, Tristan Jarriel, and Eli Layfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Kersey, Jimmy Johnson, Reather Venable and Tiffany Evans.

Mr. Johnson was born on January 31, 1952, in Fort McPherson, GA, to the late Frank Johnson, Sr. and Annie Bell Thaxton Johnson. He served his country for 3 years in Vietnam in the United States Army. On December 19, 1992, he married Brenda Murphy Johnson, who survives. He was a self-employed mechanic. He was a member of the Lower Muskogee Creek Tribe as a Light Horseman. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: his wife, Brenda Murphy Johnson of Whigham, GA; children, Bonnie Johnson (Jimmy) of Whigham, GA, Mary Kersey (Donald) of Whigham, GA, Angie Jarrell of Palm Coast, FL, Billy Cranford, III of Americus, GA, Judy Britt of Augusta, GA; grandchildren, Daniel Paul of Whigham, GA, Aaron Venable of Whigham, GA, Reather Venable of Whigham, GA, Robert Kersey of Whigham, GA, Philip Evans of Whigham, GA, Tiffany Evans of Lagrange, GA, Tristan Jarrell of Palm Coast, FL, Christal Paul (Daniel) of Whigham, GA, Billy Cranford IV, of Americus, GA, Shannon Cranford of Americus, GA, Joseph Britt of Americus, GA, Brandon Britt of Maine; 11 great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Sam Johnson, Brenda Johnson, Libby Johnson, all of Jackson, GA.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and a brother, Joseph “Joe-Joe” Johnson.
