Funeral services for Dorothy Sue Cox Harrison, 75, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Pine Level Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Jim Weaver will officiate. Interment will be in Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Harrison passed away at her home in Cairo, GA, on Wednesday, June 13, 2018.

Active pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be members of her “Young at Heart” Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Harrison was born on November 24, 1942, in Orange Park, FL, to the late Joseph F. and Arselma Billette Cox. On September 10, 1961, she married John W. “J. W.” Harrison, who preceded her in death on February 6, 2013. Dorothy worked most of her professional career in child and family services for multiple counties. She received her business degree from Valdosta State University in 1991. Dorothy enjoyed growing flowers in her garden and spreading God’s good word. She was a faithful member of the Pine Level Baptist Church and community.

Survivors include: son, Kevin Harrison of Cairo, GA; daughters, Denine Harrison Law (Mike) of Franklin, TN, Dawn Harrison Scarbrough (Chris) of Pelham, GA; grandchildren, Jamie Edward Harrison of Opp, AL, Hayden Harrison of Houston TX, Haleigh Harrison of Denver, CO, Benjamin Law of Franklin, TN, Harrison Law of Franklin, TN, John Michael Law of Franklin, TN, William Scarbrough of Moultrie, GA, Britt Scarbrough of Pelham, GA; great-grandchildren, Claire Scarbrough of Humboldt, TN, Jenson Scarbrough of Moultrie, GA; sister, Teresa Norton (Charlie) of Cairo, GA; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and infant brother.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Harrison’s memory to the Pine Level Baptist Church Building Fund, 298 Pine Level Road, Cairo, GA 39827.

The family will receive friends at Pine Level Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Friday, June 15, 2018, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
