Dolly Mae Bearden

Graveside funeral services for Dolly Mae Bearden, 89, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 19, 2018, in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Pastor Johnny H. Moore will officiate. Mrs. Bearden passed away at Rose City Health and Rehab in Thomasville, GA, on Monday, April 16, 2018.

Mrs. Bearden was born on July 14, 1928, in Blakley, GA, to the late Joe Edward Watkins and Cannie Rebecca White Watkins. For 32 years she was employed by the Grady County Board of Education as cashier of the Cairo High School Cafeteria. She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include: daughter, Brenda Willis (Buddy) of Cairo, GA; son, Jake Sanders (Deborah) of Pelham, GA; stepson, Carson Bearden (Annette) of Reno, GA; stepdaughter, Elaine Fowler (Dave) of Palm Bay, FL; stepdaughter-in-law, Barbara Bearden of Reno, GA; grandchildren, Clint Whitfield of Madison, FL, Melissa Glave (Rick) of Hampton, VA, Michelle Celaya (Justin) of Thomasville, GA, Brandon Snipes (Nichole) of Tallahassee, FL, Casey Bell (Rusty) of Cairo, GA; Shena Schafer (Bill) of Pelham, GA, Sharon Miller (Jeff) of Cairo, GA, Stephen Fowler of Palm Bay, FL, Christopher Fowler of Palm Bay, FL, Jody Bearden (Blair) of Pelham, GA, Leanna Bearden of Reno, GA; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Yarborough of Middleburg, FL.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her first husband, J. N. Sanders, who preceded her in death on February 6, 1969; her second husband, Doug Bearden, who preceded her in death on January 23, 2004; step-son, Larry Bearden; brother, Judge Edward Watkins; and a sister, Merle W. Clary.
