Funeral services for James Clinton Whigham, 85, of Whigham, GA, are at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Pine Level Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Jimmy Ausburn and Rev. Jim Weaver will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Whigham passed away at his home in Whigham, GA, on Friday, March 2, 2018.

Active pallbearers will be Cole Whigham, Alex Russell, Wayne Connell, Jim Wheeler, Kevin Baggett, Kip Coram, Cody Godwin and Ferris Taylor.

Mr. Whigham was born on December 5, 1932, in Cairo, GA, to the late James Virgil Whigham and Eunice Lee Burnum Whigham. He served his country in the United States Army. On June 20, 1953, he married the love of his life, June Maxwell Whigham, who survives. He was a self-employed farmer as well as a truck driver for H. V. Kell Company, Sunnyland Packing Company and the Colonial Food Stores, Inc. He was a devoted member of Pine Level Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday Class. He loved his family and the grandchildren were the joy of his life.

Survivors include: his wife of 64 years, June Maxwell Whigham of Whigham, GA; daughters, Jane Connell (Ronnie) of Cairo, GA, Brenda Russell (Mike) of Whigham, GA, Lisa White (Ricky) of Pelham, GA; son, Weldon Whigham (Gina) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Wayne Connell (Gloria) of Cairo, GA, Wendy Wheeler (Jim) of Cairo, GA, Alex Russell of Dahlonega, GA, Rachel Baggett (Kevin) of Norfolk, VA, Lauren White (Ferris) of Pelham, GA, Leea Godwin (Cody) of Pelham, GA, Jamie Coram (“Chip”) of Ochlocknee, GA, Cole Whigham of Cairo, GA, Cydney Whigham of Cairo, GA, Morgan Whigham of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren: Laura Stephens of Thomasville, GA, Dawson Connell of Cairo, GA, Jacob Connell of Cairo, GA, Jon Thomas Wheeler of Cairo, GA, Colin Wheeler of Cairo, GA, Garrett Taylor of Pelham, GA, Clint Baggett of Norfolk, VA; sisters, Nathelyn Hawthorne of Cairo, GA, Annette Bell (Don) of Cairo, GA, Linda Harrison (Lee) of Cairo, GA; brothers, Dalton Whigham (Jackie) of Cairo, GA, Johnny Whigham (Linda) of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends at Pine Level Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
