Funeral services for Cecil Wright Smith, 84, of Ochlocknee, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 18, 2017, at Pine Forest Baptist Church, Ochlocknee, GA. Rev. Rickey Whitley and Rev. Jack House will officiate. Interment will be in Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery, Ochlocknee, GA. Mr. Smith passed away at Grady General Hospital, Cairo, GA, on Friday, December 15, 2017.

Active pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews, Blake Smith, Joshua Smith, Karl Glass, Chris Wheaton, Brian Baggett, Kevin Suber and Troy Baggett.

Honorary Pallbearers will be, Wayne Ansley, Mack Pearson, Forrest Harrison, Lee Wilkes, Earl Womble, Jimmy Womble, Keith Meadows and Hershel Ansley.

Mr. Smith was born on June 26, 1933, in Spence, GA, to the late Eddie Lawrence Smith and Mary Churchwell Smith. On May 22, 1955, he married Delores Baggett Smith, who survives. He served his country in the United States Air Force, and was a self-employed masonry contractor. He was a very active member and Deacon of Pine Forest Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife of 62 years, Delores Baggett Smith of Ochlocknee, GA; son, Steve Smith (Belinda) of Thomasville, GA; daughter-in-law, Lori Smith-Foran of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Blair Smith Wheaton (Chris) of Jefferson, GA, Mallory Smith Glass (Karl) of Thomasville, GA, Blake Smith (Ashley) of Yucca Valley, California, Joshua Smith of Thomasville, GA; great-grandchildren, Konner Glass of Thomasville, GA, Anna Glass of Thomasville, GA, Kenlee Wheaton of Jefferson, GA, Landree Wheaton of Jefferson, GA; brothers, Clarence Smith ( Mary Jane) of Cairo, GA, Dewey Smith ( Helen) of Houston, TX.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Kenneth Wayne Smith; brothers, Grady, Eddie and Arthur Smith.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Smith’s memory to: Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 435 Pine Forest Road, Ochlocknee, GA, 31773.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, December 17, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
