Carolyn Singletary Dekle
January 22, 1935 – January 21, 2018

Funeral services for Carolyn Viola Singletary Dekle, 82, of Cairo, GA, are at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Gordon Heights Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Al Sessions will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Interment will be in the Rawls Family Cemetery. Mrs. Dekle passed away at Bainbridge Health and Rehab in Bainbridge, GA, on Sunday, January 21, 2018.

Mrs. Dekle was born on January 22, 1935, in Cairo, GA, to the late Alva Boyeton Singletary and Beatrice Cliett Singletary. She was a member of Gordon Heights Baptist Church. She loved her Lord and Saviour, piano music and her grandchildren. She was the salutatorian of the Cairo High School Class of 1953. Class members are welcome to be honorary pallbearers.

Survivors include: son, Mack Steven Dekle (Tracey) of Thomasville, GA; daughter, Janet D. Wynne (David) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Robert “Robbie” Ansley of Athens, GA, Joseph Dekle of Thomasville, GA, Chelsea Dekle and Erika Wynne, both of Cairo, GA; brother, Edward Singletary (Shirley) of Cairo, GA; sister, Eugenia Barrineau of Tallahassee, FL; and a loving aunt, Geraldine C. Miller of Whigham, GA.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; and her brother and his wife, Cecil and Carolyn Bishop Singletary.

The family will receive friends at Gordon Heights Baptist Church in the Fellowship Hall on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
