Angie Lois Maxwell May
April 14, 1927 – March 2, 2017

Angie Lois Maxwell May, 89, of Tallahassee, FL, passed away at Margaret Z. Dozier Hospice House in Tallahassee, FL, on Thursday night, March 2, 2017. Interment will be in Piedmont Cemetery, Calvary, GA. A memorial service will be held at a later time.

Mrs. May was born on April 14, 1927, in Cairo, GA, to the late Jessie Newton Maxwell and Polly Cordelia Roberts Maxwell. On August 10, 1946, she married James Linwood May, who preceded her in death on November 24, 1998. She retired as a loan processor with Capital City Bank. Mrs. May enjoyed working in her flower garden. Her greatest legacy was her unconditional love and care for her family. She was a member of the Church of God.

Survivors include: daughter, Janis Mallory (Edward) of Whigham, GA: son, Tony May (Diane) of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Amy May of Crawfordville, FL, Rebecca Ray (Mark) of Athens, AL, Michael Mallory of Whigham, GA, Troy Mallory of Kissimmee, FL, Robert Taylor (Jean) of Crawfordville, FL, Robert May (Karen) of Tallahassee, FL, Pamela Mitchell (Ashley) of Tallahassee, FL; great-grandchildren, Logan McDowell of Athens, AL, Lizzie Ray of Athens, AL, Taylor Pafford of Crawfordville, FL, Brendan Taylor of Crawfordville, FL, Dailyn Taylor of Crawfordville, FL, Kyleigh Jade May of Tallahassee, FL, Erica Freeman of Crawfordville, FL, Amber Cardin of Crawfordville, FL; brother: Arthur Maxwell (Evelyn) of Mount Pleasant, FL; sister, Mary Van Johnson of Calvary, GA; sisters-in-law, Louise Maxwell of Tallahassee, FL, Becky Maxwell of Valdosta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; son, James Pasco May; grandson, Christopher Mallory; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wythe Maxwell, Thomas and Hazel Maxwell, Cecil Maxwell; and a sister and brothers-in-law, Sara and Eason Davis, George Johnson.
